Located north east of Newman this is an ideal spot to have a barbecue swim or sail a boat (no power boats allowed). The lake covers 16 kilometers square and holds 30 million cubic meters.
 

The dam was completed in 1981 and is used to recharge the underground aquifers supplying Newman's water supply. The turn off to the dam is 11 kms north along the Marble Bar Road on the right. Follow the gravel road for 2 kms and turn right and continue for 3 kms in a southerly direction. Please check road conditions with the Newman Visitor Centre.
