Northampton which has the Nokanena Brook flowing through it is located 474km north of Perth. The population of Northampton is 786.

Northampton is a charming town on the edge of the wheat belt.

Chiverton House was built during 1867 – 1874 and it is claimed that convicts in fact built the building, if so it would have been one of the last structures built by convicts as transportation of convicts ended in 1868. Back then it was Captain S. Mitchell’s house, but currently is the town’s museum.

The Church of St Mary in Ara Coeli is on the main street of Northampton and offers an abundance of history.
