Derby is the gateway to magnificent gorges in the Napier and Leopold Ranges. Located 2,436km north-east of Perth, Derby has a population of 5000.

Derby was the first town settled in the Kimberley and has the highest tides in Australia, reaching up to 12 metres. Boab trees line the streets of the town.

Derby has a very historical heritage trail which features the Wharfinger House Museum and the Old Derby Goal.
