Geraldton

Geraldton is a busy port Geraldton offers great windsurfing conditions

Geraldton has a great climate all year round, some exciting surf beaches, fabulous fishing, and diving opportunities at the nearby Abrolhos Island .

The Geraldton area is now a fabulous spot to spend a weekend away; particularly when it is a bit cooler in the south west.

The Gascoyne Murchison Outback Pathways which were opened in 2004 are fantastic informative trips. Geraldton is a great destination to start or end your Outback Pathways adventure. In particular see Miners Pathway and Wool Wagon Pathway.

The HMAS Sydney Memorial is spectacular (particularly at dawn), and the Western Australian Museum is worth several hours. The beaches, the fishing, and diving at the Abrolhos are fantastic. The surfing, wind and kite surfing, the cafes, and attractions are all of excellent standard.

There are excellent tours by air and sea of the fabulous Abrolhos Islands; including great fishing charters. The wind, board and kite surfing spots are the envy of many places in the world.

All this is only four and a half hours north of Perth on an excellent road. If you want to spend a little more time you can travel via the beautiful Swan Valley; go to the Nambung National Park and see the world famous Pinnacles as well.

A short distance past Geraldton lie the beautiful beaches and gorges of Kalbarri, which is also a very popular holiday destination.
