Esperance

Windsurfing at Twilight Beach Esperance Eco Discovery Tours

Esperance lies on the coast of the Southern Ocean, in the Bay of Isles.

Nestled between the spectacular Cape Le Grand and Cape Arid National Parks, Esperance offers amazing contrasts between rugged granite peaks, rocky headlands, and pristine beaches.

Esperance's beaches are sheltered by the Islands in the Bay and offer safe swimming and great fishing opportunities.

The beaches are exquisite and many so it is possible to find a beach all to yourself! A favourite is Lucky Bay and if you're lucky you might even see the resident kangaroo lounging in the sun!

Esperance has developed a tourist drive, Great Ocean Drive, that guides you through the main attractions of Esperance; including a lookout over the township, the Pink Lake, and of course it's great beaches like Twilight Beach.

Esperance’ township has a lot to offer a visitor. Just down the road from the Best Western Hospitality Inn Esperance is Museum Village where they have turned old buildings, like the matron residence and the police station, into the Visitor Centre and interesting shops. Other places to check out include Mermaid Leather where you can learn how they turn fish scales into leather.

A "must do" while in Esperance is Woody Island. McKenzie Island Cruises can take you out there and during the summer you can even camp overnight. It is a beautiful ecologically preserved island that connects you to nature. Even if you don't stay overnight it is great to visit and walk around the island.
