Carnarvon

Carnarvon is a small town with plenty offer on your DriveWA northern escape. Only one days drive from Perth it is ideal stop over for great escapes like the Gascoyne Murchison Pathways and Ningaloo Marine Park.

Situated on the coast of WA, with fantastic weather year round, it is a magnificent destination for water sports. Carnarvon's fantastic water playground starts in the Fascine and ends with the lower end of the magnificent Ningaloo Reef Marine Park.

No visit to Carnarvon is complete without a tour of a banana plantation. Buy fresh fruit from plantations in the river bank areas, just to the east of town.

The Historical Jetty and Heritage Train museum are on the Oceanside of town. The jetty stretches out for one mile and is the longest jetty in the North West.

If you want a view of the town, there is no better view than from the drive around the OTC Dish. This interesting satellite dish is on high ground overlooking the town.

There is fantastic fishing, diving, and boating options available in the area; including great organised tour options and plenty of chances to take your own boat. There are also fantastic surfing options just north of Carnarvon.

A couple of hours drive inland from Carnarvon will bring you to the majestic peaks and gorges of the magnificent Kennedy ranges.

The well-known and spectacular blowholes are just to the north and well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Less than an hour east of Carnarvon is a fantastic billabong at Rocky Pool which is worth a look if you have the time.

All these great Carnarvon attractions are complemented by good quality and relatively inexpensive motel accommodation at the Best Western motel; which near the Fascine waterway.
