Rottnest Island

Pelican Cottesloe Beach is one of Perth's premier attractions

Rottnest (or Rotto to the locals) is a wonderful, inexpensive family getaway. The island, 30 minutes by ferry from Fremantle, is rich with history and culture.

Rottnest is a great family friendly retreat. Nearly everyone on the island is on holidays. To get around the island you can either walk, ride a bike (which can be hired or take your own), or use the public bus.

Rottnest is the perfect place for you to escape the hustle and the bustle of everyday life. Whether you spend a day or a week in Rottnest, you are sure to have a peaceful, relaxing escape.

Rottnest has beautiful beaches that are great for swimming, snorkelling, or scuba diving. Or relax by taking a boat or kayak out to cruise around the islands.

Spend your day riding around the island, or swimming in Thomson Bay; however you choose to spend your time, don’t forget to stop off at the renowned Rottnest Bakery. No trip to Rottnest is complete without it.

Don't forget to look out for the Quokkas.

Rottnest Island, or Rotto as it is called locally, is truly inspiring. Some of the finest beaches in the world can be found on Rottnest; with its white luminescent sand, clear turquoise water, coral reefs, and amazing aquatic life.
