Fremantle

Fremantle Prison Fremantle Prison Gatehouse

Fremantle is a lovely historic destination very close to Perth. It is very accessible from Perth by car, bus or train.

One of the best things about Fremantle is great pubs especially the micro breweries like Sail & Anchor and Little Creatures. It is a great place to relax with a beer and watch the world walk by. Make sure to try some of the unique beers, they're a beer connoisseur dream.

Fremantle is also renowned for its historic buildings, its busy port, and its fishing harbour; which is home to a variety of restaurants (that serve great fish and chips) and the lovely Kailis Pearls. The fishing harbour was made famous by a sporting event that took the world by storm, The America's Cup.

Fremantle hosted one of the world's top championship sailing events, America’s Cup Defence Series 1987. Since then, sailing fanatics from far and wide come to catch a glimpse of the history that Fremantle was a part of, in the mid to late 1980's.

Fremantle is bursting with Western Australian history. Fremantle Prison, the roundhouse, Maritime Museum, and the heritage houses all over Fremantle are just waiting to share their unique history with you.

If history isn't your style then there is much more on offer in Fremantle; including Fremantle markets, the E-Shed markets and the Cappuccino strip on South Terrace. Fremantle’s port also offers a pick up destination for the boat to Rottnest Island.
