Broome

Purple sunset of the coast of Broome Red Beach

Broome is at the top end of Western Australia and features magnificent beaches that can capture your imagination day and night. With great weather during the winter months (summers can be a bit hot) it is a perfect winter escape destination.

No visit to Broome is complete without a visit to one of the most famous beaches in Western Australia, Cable Beach.

Cable Beach is also home to the Camel Tours. These tours run from sunrise to sunset and provide you with the fantastic visual pleasure of Western Australia's fantastic sunsets.

Roebuck Bay is home to the famous Staircase to the Moon. Here the reflection of the moon is breathtaking, extending from the water to the moon. The best time to see this is from March to October and is complemented with great night markets.

Broome is renowned for its pearls and is a place where every Pearl lover should go. Producing some of the best pearls in Australia; take the time to visit the Pearl Lugger and Willie Creek Pearl Farm to learn about the pearling history of Broome and maybe pick up a pearl for yourself, or for that someone special!

There is one famous Australian that calls Broome home, Malcolm Douglas. His Crocodile Farm is one of the best in Western Australia, and rivals Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo in Queensland. A must stop for crocodile enthusiasts.

If shopping is more your style then you must visit Chinatown. The finest pearl showrooms, retail outlets, and sidewalk cafes will provide you with a great shopping experience. Take the time to soak in the charm of old and new Broome.

If Broome sounds like your next "Must Do" destination, take a few days to drive and stop off at the many unique destinations along the way. For ideas please check out our itinerary section. Make sure you allow enough time to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the sites of Broome.
