The Australian outback is a spectacular area of the world, and is certainly an area to be thoroughly explored. However, taking the right precautions is always a must!

Food, water and camping gear aren't the only tools and goods you'll need to take with you on your DriveWA adventure.

The Road Safety Kit from Pronto Safety is ideal for anyone driving  Australian Roads Kit includes a tough canvas high visibility bag, high  visibility vest, wheel chocks, triangle reflectors, flashlight and radio, first aid kit, gloves and  a fire extinguisher.

Please read about the various safety precautions you and your family need to take to ensure that your holiday is a safe and happy one!

We also recommend you look at the WA Police Service website; in particular their Aids to Survival publication. This booklet has wonderful information. If you want to get yourself a hard copy they are available free from local Police Stations (subject to them running out so check early) or simply print the pdf and store it in your vehicle.

The WA branch of the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) also produces Safety and Survival Handbooks that are not only very useful but also raise funds for the RFDS. This inexpensive handbook is worth the investment. Call RFDS on 08 9093 0479 to find out how you can get a copy.
