Perth City

Perth City, the capital of Western Australia, is known as one of Australia’s most beautiful cities. It is the perfect place for a day out with plenty of things to see and do; including some excellent shopping, street entertainment, great eateries, the stunning King’s Park, and the cultural precinct where the Museum, Art Gallery and Library are all located.

The city of Perth is filled with colour all year round. Beautiful garden beds adorn the streets and public parks all throughout the city. Perth holds an enviable position overlooking the magnificent Swan River. Used for many different water sports and activities throughout the year, the Swan River is also home to a variety of wildlife. Ferries travel across the Swan River from Barrack St Jetty, in Perth, to the South Perth foreshore all day; from there you can see the magnificent Perth Skyline from afar and take some amazing panoramic photos.

The city is flat, compact, and easily navigated with pedestrian only shopping malls on Hay and Murray Streets. These shopping malls are where you will find quality department stores from Woolworths to David Jones. For the serious ‘shop-a-holic’ within you, visit King Street where you will find, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Kookai.

Free buses, known as CAT buses will get you around the city centre for free where you can visit the Perth Mint, Swan Bell Tower, and many more attractions. There is also an abundance of public transport heading into and out of the city.

A wide range of accommodation is also available from backpackers to top of the range hotels. Northbridge is also nearby; which has a vibrant nightlife, with a large variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, and clubs.

Kings Park is one of the highlights of Perth City with its amazing botanical gardens and views. The DNA tower offers one of the best views and on a clear day you can see all the way to Rottnest Island. The new treetop walk offers a more unique view of the city and the plant life that live within the park. There are free barbeque facilities and plenty of picnic spots to have a relaxing day out with friends or family.
