Munda Biddi Trail
The Munda Biddi is one of the most amazing natural experiences
The trail was originally founded, in partnership, by a small group of individuals, who were passionate about developing an interesting wilderness trail for bikes, and a number of governmental/semi governmental agencies and the local communities. The WA Department of Environment and Conservation (formerly CALM) and the Munda Biddi Foundation have also played major roles.
The track commences in Mundaring and meanders beautifully through an undeveloped natural corridor.
The trail boasts bush tracks, firebreaks, and an old railway line. Most of the trail is on gentle grades to suit all cycling abilities and paces; yet there are challenging loops and spurs for those keen cyclists. The trail offers variety in abundance; each day will vary from the next. Travel through towering eucalyptus forests or ancient bushlands. Explore new species of plant and wildlife, not found anywhere else in the world. Learn about Aboriginal culture and the native ways. Camp at one of the Munda Biddi sleeping shelters along the trail; or enjoy stating in one of the quaint towns along the way.
The trail is conserved by two organisations; the Department of Environment and Conservation and the Munda Biddi Trail Foundation. The Munda Biddi Trail Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that has been formed to assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of the trail. The foundation aims to represent the community that will be using the trail; enlisting paid memberships, fundraising, business sponsorships, and community liaison to generate awareness of the trail. The foundations primary role is to encourage cyclists to use the trail and ensure that it is an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
The Munda Biddi Trail is a magnificent experience; the vast and captivating landscape of WA ensures a beautifully scenic adventure. Engage in Mother Nature’s playground and experience the ultimate rejuvenating getaway – the Munda Biddi Trail.
