Vehicle preparation
Before you make your final decision about which vehicle to take on your DriveWA adventure, please read carefully the sections of the website that relate to trip preparation; with respect to your vehicle, yourself, and your communications.

Give those people travelling with you the DriveWA web address, so that they can prepare by reading the trip planning sections; or simply print them out.

Do I need a 2WD or a 4WD vehicle?

This decision will be largely determined by the destinations you choose, and the overall itinerary decisions you make in the planning phase.

Your DriveWA journey might call for you to fly in to an area, or drive your 2WD vehicle to a destination, and hire a 4WD vehicle there to do a more complex side trip.

We recommend 4WD training before setting out on your Western Australian outback adventure. If you need them, then get lessons - they are fun and not that expensive. Remember that you can’t put a price on safety. We recommend Global Gypsies.

For advice on how to ensure your vehicle gets to your chosen destination and back safely; or if any modifications are required; Talk to Rob Robson, at Robson Bros 4WD Service and Repair, or the helpful people at ARB Osborne Park.

For more information about your 4WD vehicle visit www.ExplorOz.com.

Planning a successful escape is a big part of the fun, so preparation will help you enjoy your DriveWA escape safely.
