Boyanup

Add To Itinerary

Boyanup, a small rural town, lies in the dairy, sheep farming and fruit growing district. Located 195km south of Perth, Boyanup has a population of 420. This town lies roughly 21 kilometres South East of Bunbury – which is a popular tourist destination in Western Australia’s South West.

The town of Boyanup was gazetted in 1984 and takes its name from the Aboriginal term for the distinguishing feature of this area, 'place of quartz'. Boyanup also has quite an interesting Transport Museum.

From Boyanup it is not very far to the aquatic delights in and around Bunbury, which includes wonderful beaches, sailing, boating and some of the best and most varied fishing options in the state. The crabbing and prawning in the estuary and rivers are definately worth the journey.
