Balladonia lies on the Eyre Highway and is a stopping place for people travelling between Western Australia and South Australia. Balladonia is located 930 kilometres east of Perth.

Local attractions in Balladonia include the Afghan Rocks and Balladonia Rocks. Balladonia’s became quite well known when a Skylab satellite struck ground nearby in 1979 - and Balladonia now have a museum for people to visit.

To the east of Balladonia is Australia’s longest straight road, the Nullabor Plain, which is 146 kilometres – and is sometimes referred to as the 90 mile straight.
