Monkey Mia is a renowned location for interacting with Mother Nature herself. Apart from its amazing coastal splendour, Monkey Mia is graced daily by an impressive pod of dolphins.
 
In the early 1960’s a woman from a neighbouring fishing camp befriended the intelligent aquatic mammals, feeding them regularly. This tradition has since been carried over into the 21st Century.
 
A pod of close to 300 dolphins happily reside in the bay area of Monkey Mia. The beautifully gentle creatures relish in human contact and are a popular tourist attraction to those visiting the magnificent area. Monkey Mia’s location is its most prominent appeal. Located on the spectacular section of the World Heritage coastline, Monkey Mia is a prime spot for relaxation and enjoying the unique bird and animal life that live in the area. 

 

Besides the dolphins some attractions in the immediate area include Hamelin Pool and the Stramatolites, Useless Loop, Eagle Bluff, Shell Beach and Shark Bay.
