Information technology is the key component of a Telecentre’s purpose. However Telecentres provide many community services that cannot be received on a commercial basis plus rapid access to many state and federal government services such as employment, health, tax and many more.

Many Telecentres provide both accredited and non-accredited courses through their facilities including WA TAFE courses.

Telecentres are a non-profit organisation run by and for the community. The day to day running of a telecentre is organised by the Telecentre Coordinator who is assisted by a group of volunteers.
