Shell Beach
Shell Beach is a spectacular sight. Aptly named, this beautiful white beach is adorn with billions of tiny white 'conquina bivalve' sea shells, which layer the coastline for approximately 60 kilometres.
The clear shallow waters allow visitors the amazing experience of walking many many metres into the turquoise ocean. As predators of the small white shells do not cope with the high salinity levels in the Shell Beach region, the beautiful white shells live untroubled in their billions in these bays.
Several buildings in Denham and surrounding stations were built from blocks of these compact shells.
